July 8th 2009

Hopefully you had a great 4th of July weekend. I’m sure that you enjoyed a great BBQ with family and friends and afterwards went some where to watch the beautiful firework displays. For me this past weekend was one of the most fun weekends I have had in a long time. I wrestled at the 4th of July festival in Sistersville, WV. The show was great, but most of the fun happened for me before the show.

When I got to Sistersville I ran into some fans that have become friends, we had a great day hanging out and swimming. That is the great part about being a wrestler. I love meeting people everywhere I go. Sometimes, as in this case, the fans become friends. Once I get the pictures from the day at the pool they will be posted on the site.

I will be the first to say that Sistersville puts on a wonderfully beautiful firework display. I had the pleasure of watching the display while standing in the ring with two of my biggest fans and friends. Thank both of you for that very memorable experience. It was the first time I got to stand in the middle of the ring and watch fireworks. It was a day I will never forget,

After the fireworks the show began, I wrestled Ryan Phoniex in the main event. After being thrown to the pavement, and being hit in the head with a fucking dictionary, I some how managed to steal a victory. Still not sure how I pulled it off, but I did.

The fans at the show were great, I stood for an hour after the show shaking hands, taking pictures, and signing autographs. I think I got to personally meet every one of the 200 fans there, and if not, it sure felt like it.  I am looking forward to going back to Sistersville on August 1st so I can entertain the great people of Sistersville again.

Other than the weekend I had a relatively laid back and relaxed week. I spent most of my time at the lake and working out. I have always enjoyed a day of fishing, it is the only time I am completely relaxed; however, lately it hasn’t been very relaxing. I haven’t caught a damn fish in the past couple weeks. I am thankful I don’t have to rely on fishing for food. Although with the way the economy currently is I may consider eating the fish, but I highly doubt it. I am too big of a believer in catch and release.

Catch and release fishing, in my opinion, is the best way to fish, by releasing what we catch we can be assured that there will be fish in our lakes, ponds, streams, and rivers for many generations to come. Fishing is also one of the cheapest ways that a family can spend time together.

Think about it, what can be better than sitting beside a beautiful and peaceful lake watching your child or children with a big smile on his or her face as they are reeling in a fish. Please do yourself a favor and take a few moments out of your busy life and enjoy nature with all its beauty and wonder. Nature truly is one of our greatest assets. We all live busy lives, but at the end of the day none of us have any excuses to not stop and enjoy ourselves once in a while.

I remember one particularly perfect afternoon setting beside Cloe Dam with my daughter. Jezabel was having a blast. She was catching one blue gill after another and loved every minute of it. There is nothing better than the thrill and excitement in a child’s voice when they finally hook a fish after the wait and anticipation. If you don’t have any kids it I would suggest taking a child with you that is under privileged and show them the time of their life and teach them to appreciate nature.

A long time ago I asked for the answer to a riddle in one of my MySpace blogs, recently something happened that made me think of the riddle yet again. Only this time I’m going to give both the riddle and the answer. I have a strange gut feeling that by mentioning this I am going to be having more than one interesting discussion, but it’ll be all right. No matter what happens one thing is for sure, I will always live life for the moment and always be happy.

The riddle is a very simple but at the same time very difficult. Before you read the answer further down this page take a minute to think, maybe you can figure out the answer before I give it to you. Here goes nothing, I hope you enjoy.

You can have me but can not hold me; Gain me and quickly lose me.  If treated with care I can be great, and if betrayed I will break. What am I?  In all honesty most people have seen this riddle at least once in their life, but it is by far one of my favorites. I feel that it is a very accurate riddle. Before I give you the answer let me tell you a little story that will probably give the answer away, but it’ll be ok.

A few nights ago I was setting around looking at and enjoying the pictures on my phone. I was showing them and bragging about the pictures with a very close and dear friend of mine, upon which some of the pictures contained. I noticed that for some reason as I was talking about the pictures my friend was getting upset. I’m not going to get into all the details as to why Miss X was getting upset, but it was clear she was by the way she demanded I delete her pictures from my phone.

I had an idea what the reason was, but I wanted to hear Miss X tell me why she was getting upset, so well, I did what any normal person would do when they want information and I asked the question. I said, “Why are you getting upset?”

That is about the time the proverbial shit hit the fan. Within the first couple of words out of Miss X’s mouth I knew I was being fed a bullshit story.  There are some people in this world that you know you are going to feed you bull shit the minute they open their mouths, but I never expected it from Miss X. None the less, that is what I got.

Have we figured the answer out yet? I hope so, because if not I am going to spoil the challenge, the answer is TRUST. Trust is something that most people take for granted. Some people hand it out freely and take their chances and others are more reluctant to give their trust. I am one of the latter, I don’t hand my complete trust out to just anyone, I like to feel confident that I can trust a person completely and utterly before I hand them 100% of my trust.

Trust is such a fragile thing and can be broken very quickly and easily. For some reason people don’t realize how easy it is to betray a person’s trust.  Once the trust is betrayed you are left with one of two choices, you can either trust the person again or never trust them again. One thing for sure is that if you decide to continue trusting the person it can and usually does take a little time before you can give them 100% of your trust again.

During that time I think everyone walks on egg shells until both people know that the trust is regained. Depending on the person that betrayed you, you have to decide if they are worth trusting again. Don’t make that decision on the spot, take your time and think about it. In this particular case Miss X is a close enough friend that I think she is worth it. Hopefully I’m not setting myself up to be knocked down again, but only time will tell. I think that everything will be good. I have faith in Miss X; I don’t think she will betray my trust again.

Don’t forget to come out to Greenwood, WV on July 10th for an action packed night of wrestling and to see yours truly. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm. I hope to see you there.

Until next time,
