April 7th

This past weekend, I was back at WVU-P wrestling for the MWA.  Unfortunately, the show didn't draw as well as it usually does; however, it was still a nice turn out.  I wrestled a new comer by the name of Payton Graham.  It was a fun little match.  We went back and forth for most of the match.  Payton managed to slip out of the DDT the first time that I hooked him, but it was all good because in the end I sent Payton’s head crashing through the mat.  I will definitely give him credit, he was a slippery bastard, but I got him.  LOL

This coming weekend is going to be one hell of a fucked up weekend.  First I have to drive about 5 hours Saturday to a show in Geneva, NY at Desales High School, belltime 7:00pm. After that show I have about 7 hour drive to Kingwood, WV on Sunday at the Craig Civic Center, doors open at 1:00pm for a meet and greet and belltime is at 2:30pm. Both shows should be awesome.  The last time I was in NY they drew around 200 people and Kingwood usually draws around 400 people.  I can honestly say I am not looking forward to the 24 plus hours of practically no sleep, but I am excited and looking forward to the shows.  Little to no sleep, which is more likely, is all part of the job.  Surprisingly though, you get used to it after a while.  LOL  Oh well, such is life and I am excited as fuck to get to see all the fans and to steal the shows.  :D

There has been something on my mind the past couple days that has been annoying me a lot.  In this business we put up with a lot of back stabbing bullshit.  Something else you get used to after a while.  None the less, sometimes people take it too far and hit way below the belt.  Due to the fact that it doesn’t directly involve me or at least not the worst part of it, I am not going to use names.

Anyway, there is one particular wrestler that at first you think you can trust him and people that have known him for years find what he has been doing lately very hard to believe.  Here is just a run-down of some of the things that he has done:  He screwed one promotion in WV out of a building that they ran in, he also called almost all of that promotions talent and fired them after stealing the building, he is threatening another promoter so that he can get booked, this man lies about and twists everything and has been screwing every one over for no reason what so ever.

That is just the short list, he has also threatened to come to the shows that he isn’t booked on to disrupt and try to ruin the shows.  It is one thing to be a bitter little prick with a Napoleon complex, it is another thing to be a coward resorting to threats to attempt to get booked on shows.  The last time I checked; a wrestler or entertainer gets booked on shows based on talent and attitude.  Hell, if you want to get to the bottom of it, in most cases attitude plays a bigger part than talent does.  Either way, I digress.  I just wanted to rant a little because the promoter that this particular wrestler is trying to screw has never done anything to anyone that I know of and has always been an up front man.  Wrestlers like this are the ones that are destroying the business that I love.

Everyone knows that this is a cut throat business and to be honest the cut throat nature is one of the things that makes this business interesting.  The politics become a massive chess game.  You see who can out smart and out play who.  There are two secrets to playing the game.  Number one, learn the game well and become good enough at the game that no one even knows that you are playing.  Number two, make sure that you have planned the next five moves in advance.

Both of these secrets are very important in the chess game that we call backstage politics.  When no one knows you are playing, they give in and give you what you want or do what you want with little to no hassle what so ever.  Planning five moves ahead is important so that you can have everything plotted out before it happens and you can have yourself prepared no matter what happens.

By knowing how to play the game and play it well, you are almost always prepared for guys like the wrestler that I was referring to earlier.  Guys that resort to threats to get booked on shows usually aren’t smart enough to play the game so that makes it even easier to win the game.  The only downside is that in most cases once you resort to threats you are desperate and desperate men can at times be unpredictable.  Either way, I have listened to all of the information that has been given me and there is a plan in place in the event this jabroni decides he wants to try something stupid.

Ok, enough about that shit.  I want to remind you about Rated R Wrestling’s debut show at the Inferno located at 520 7th Street in Parkersburg, WV on April 15th.  The band will be starting at 8:00pm and the wrestling will begin at 9:00pm.  So far everything is running smoothly.  I am hoping that I have a great turn out.  If the show goes the way I have planned and the draw is as big as I would like for it to be Rated R Wrestling will become a permanent fixture and will run once a month at the Inferno.  I am looking forward to seeing each and every one of you there.

I hope you all had a great Easter Weekend.  I know that I sure as hell did.  LOL  My little Princess didn’t think I was going to be home for Easter so I planned a fun little surprise for her.  I snuck back to Punxsutawney without telling her that I was in town.  I then hid my car down the street and walked home.  While I was walking, I called Jezabel and told her that there was one more Easter surprise hidden for her that she didn’t find yet.

She of course asked for a hint to find her really big special surprise so I sent her on a wild goose chase all through the house to give me enough time to hide behind the shed we have in the back yard.  After I was in place I told her that I had just remembered that her surprise was hidden outside then I told her I was losing service and that I would call her back in a few minutes to see if she had found her prize.  I heard her laughing as she was looking all over the place and outside until she finally walked behind the shed and saw me standing there.

My little princess literally froze in place as she looked up at me with a big smile on her face.  Her beautiful eyes started to tear up as she ran over, wrapped her arms around my neck and said, “Daddy, this is the best surprise ever, I love you.”

The moment was absolutely price less.  Moments in life like that truly are hard to come by and when they do, they should be held onto and cherished forever.  I know I will.  With being on the road all the time I don’t get to see my Baby as much as I would like, so when I have the opportunity to make my Princess's Day, I fucking take it.  She is my world.

Until next time,
